All the highway girls go back to bed. They’re all drunk and they’ve spent their last few bucks on the bus ride home. All the well dressed boys are in the streets, singing songs they know don’t mean a thing. They don’t want to sleep. I don’t want a highway girl. They’ve got nothing for me when they’re drunk roaming their streets, And they sing along for hours and hours, They’ve got nothing for me: mini-skirts and punk rock tease, Cause you do whatever it takes out there. It’s 4am and the stores are closed, so we light the last few stokes and try to find a short way home. We jumped a fence to avoid the well dressed boys. We didn’t want to hear about the well dressed boys, but ran into some high way girls. ..and the only time I get away from the problems that I can’t face is when I’m down and out in the corner of your house. I’m starting to learn there’s more to this than nights alone with my sadness. They were right, tomorrow holds such better days. You do what ever it takes out there.

Don't Ask Me 03:14
I don’t care much for bad girls, I only care about good times. I don’t care about your time, I only care about mine. I just needed a night out. I just needed to be alone. I think that I’ve been thinking too much. I think that you’ve been drinking too much. So don’t you ask me. Don’t distract me cause I came here on my own and I’ll leave here alone. Don’t you tempt me. Don’t even ask me. Even if I wanted you, I couldn’t take you home.

I want you to know that you’re amazing. Your smile, yeah, it’s amazing. You don’t even know how it makes me. You don’t even know how you make me feel. Well, you got me. You got me and you don’t even need me. You got me and I hope that I’ve got you too. The best damn days are when we’re lying awake in bed making excuses of why we don’t need to go to school. The best damn nights are when we’re high and dry, I’ve got to ask myself ‘could I ever sleep without you?’ I don’t think that I could keep dreaming if I were without you. I don’t think another girl could kiss me like you. I know that you wont be, I want you to hope I’m your last love. I put my sweater on so we can walk around outside. Yeah, you’re gorgeous. You got that drop-me-right-down-on-the-floor kind of kiss. Yeah, you got me. You got me and you don’t even want me. You got me and I hope that I’ve got you too. I take my sweater off, cause I don’t want to go outside.

Slacker 03:43
These long nights and car rides and city shows, That’s where my heart is, It’s hopeless, I know. I know you’re itching, your craving a little more but, I’m just not ready for a day job at a liquor store. White lies and indecision, My eyes see tunnel vision. Out here, suspicion is my home. So carry me down to the sea and watch the waves crash over me. Pray for rain, live for today. I’m sorry for all I’ve never been. Everything gets placed above, I feel buried bellow. You’ll be alright, and I’m hopeless, I know. You’re ready for this, I know you are. So go out and be ready on your own. Long nights and wasted hours, Most times I don’t get answers. Out here, innocence is alone. I’ll never grow up. We’ll never be the same. I won’t change.

Well I’m not a liar, I just hate telling the truth. And I’m not a joker, but jokes I’ve got a few. And baby when I talk to her, I only think of you. I want to be yours till the day I die and if the devil tries to take me, Well I’m going to scream and fight. So when you say it’s over, cause you’ve heard I’m cheating on you, There’s not a lot to say girl, Cause I only think of you. I only think of you. So when you say its over, and I know I’m losing you, There’s not a lot to say girl, cause I only think of you.

These Days 02:45
I want to go out, I want to get high, I want to se a sun rise from the sky. Make a fool of myself, stay awake till it hurts, another cup of coffee staring back at me. I don’t miss city lights or girls looking nice, I’m an old school kid with a will to fight. So fuck your trends, they’re all going to end, I don’t need the latest sweater or cardigan. These days are always a thrill, When there’s nothing else to do, We always find a way to pass the time. How could I say all the things I want to say if I went away? I fall too quickly, So I cant go looking for a blonde haired girl who could give me those eyes. Don’t ever stay in bed it’ll go to your head. The phone calls are cheap, But the sleep gets heavy. I got some friends, we’re together till the end. We go out and drink and do it all again. We drive around and scream out loud. We won’t regret it in the morning, it’s just another story to shout.

Casey 03:26
It started with a kiss. You were drunk and it was meaningless. It started with a kiss. That’s all it ever was. We started out as friends but that’s never how a story ends. We started out as friends, but now it’s done. Casey, I’m sorry. I can’t face this. I dreamed of holding your hand, 3am calls cause you just couldn’t sleep. I never wanted anything more than you next to me. I dreamed of nights with high school friends. Talk about how we’ve come so far. I guess we found out how the summer ends. It fell apart like this: the late nights got the best of us. It fell apart like this: we’re young and reckless. It fell apart like this: lost contact when you moved out west. It fell apart like this: we were young and stupid. It ended like this: the late nights got the best of us. It ended like this: you’re young and fucked up . I dreamed of holding your hand, 3am calls cause you just never sleep. I never wanted anything more than you next to me. I dreamed of nights with all our friends. Talk about how we’ve come so far. I guess we found out how the summer ends.

Well it’s cold as London in the room I’m in and I’m swaying left and right to a beat that just wont stay. I’ve been counting stars and drawing them down in a book that used to be ours. I could write in it for hours. But love is blindless, love aint fair. If you want to break my heart girl, don’t be scared. You used to kiss me in the mornings when I don’t want to get out of bed. But now you’re not around so I guess I’ll sleep instead. Well it’s hot as hell in this scene we’re in. Should I knock down her door? Should I beg her to let me in? She’s been messin’ round with all the other boys in this town. I just sleep in all day now.

A silence breaks you. Wings will never sprout, Afraid to hit the ground. Watch it take you. The first of the year, I’ll be damned if I stay near. I’ve been losing sleep, and I can’t recall the things I tried to keep alive. My hand’s been shaking, just looking at the ground, afraid to leave now. Where’s your heart? I can’t believe the damage that we caused. Where’s your heart? It’s funny how the end feels like the start. My heads been shaking, Just looking at the ground, Afraid to leave now. A silence breaks you. Wings will never sprout, You’re brought back to ground.

S.A. 04:26
I’m counting days, just this week. We’ve been putting fears to sleep. I fall in love with long distance phone calls. Some things deserve to be kept away, I think we need to let them be. But honestly I thought I’d be more comfortable by now. Still alive, still alone. You say so much has changed, and I’m sure it’s changed. It’s all times fault. I want you to see this for what it is, for all it is. Through stammering lips and other tongues, I call you out. I call you out, the one I loved. I’m coming home as someone else. Still alive, still alone.
